The services account surplus plunged to DKK 0.4 billion from DKK 3.2 billion a year earlier, while the primary income surplus decreased to DKK 7.1 billion from DKK 7.8 billion a year earlier and the secondary income gap increased to DKK 2.9 billion from DKK 2.7 billion in September 2019. Meanwhile, the goods surplus widened to DKK 14.5 billion from DKK 13.4 billion in the same month of 2019.

Denmark's current account surplus declined to DKK 8.2 billion in August of 2020 from DKK 17.7 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year. It was the smallest current account surplus since March, as the services account surplus plunged to DKK 2.3 billion from DKK 7.7 billion a year earlier, while goods surplus narrowed to DKK 6.6 billion from DKK 10.3 billion in the same month of 2019 and the primary income surplus decreased to DKK 1.9 billion from DKK 2.6 billion a year earlier. Meantime, the secondary income gap declined to DKK 2.6 billion from DKK 2.8 billion in August 2019.
