The central bank of Jamaica kept the benchmark interest rate at the record low of 0.50 percent at its 18 December 2020 meeting. Policymakers said that inflation will generally continue to remain within the target of 4.0 percent to 6.0 percent over the next two years. Annual inflation declined to 4.3 percent in November from 5.0 percent in October.
