The Swiss unemployment rate inched down to a non-seasonally adjusted 3.2 percent in September 2020 from 3.3 percent in the previous month and below market consensus of 3.3 percent. The number of unemployed people fell by 2,551, or 1.7 percent, to 148,560. Meantime, youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, declined to 3.6 percent from 3.9 percent in August, with the number of young unemployed decreasing by 1,271, or 6.2 percent, to 19,070. Adjusted for seasonal factors, the unemployment rate edged down to 3.3 percent in September from 3.4 percent in August.
