The number of unemployed decreased by 550 thousand to 4.016 million, while employment declined by 733 thousand to 27.707 million with job losses registered mainly in construction, agriculture and services. The labour force participation rate dropped to 50.5 percent from 53.5 percent in the same month a year earlier.
